Dr. Andreas Wibmer

Dr. Wibmer, MD is certified as a Diagnostic Radiologist by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and by the Austrian Medical Chamber. He specializes in Body Imaging with a focus on the imaging of genitourinary and gynecological malignancies. He is currently based in Italy and works as an independent teleradiologist.

Dr. Wibmer graduated from the Medical University of Vienna, where he also completed a residency program in Radiology, and worked as an Assistant Attending in the Department of Radiology. After relocating to the USA, he completed a research fellowship as well as two clinical fellowships in Oncologic Body Imaging and Molecular Imaging and Therapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City. As a member of MSKCC’s faculty between 2018 and 2022, he was part of MSKCC’s interdisciplinary genitourinary and gynecological disease management teams.

His research focuses on the imaging of genitourinary malignancies, particularly prostate cancer, and has resulted in over 70 peer-reviewed publications. The overarching goal of his work is to develop medical imaging from a purely diagnostic tool towards a prognostic biomarker by integrating radiomic data into personalized management decision tools.
